Las Vegas Gunman’s mysterious estate worth a fortune

The evil notorious Las Vegas gunman, Stephen Paddock, had an enigmatic fortune worth more than $1.3 million held in various separate bank accounts at the time of his shooting spree in 2017.

Paddock, 64, launched the deadliest massacre in US history on 1st October last year, killing 58 and injuring an additional 800 innocent victims whilst shooting at a music festival from the 32nd floor of his Mandalay Bay hotel room.

The retired real-estate investor owned an unbelievable collection of weapons and firearm accessories worth $62,000, which were found in his home and hotel room in which he launched his attack.

Las Vegas Police have since revealed that Paddock kept his money in 14 bank accounts. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, in the last 2 years of his life, he spent a whopping $1.5 million.

Following his brutal shooting spree in 2017, Paddock, who took his own life, died ‘intestate’, meaning he did not leave a Will, leaving his mother to inherit his ever more puzzling fortune.

Paddock’s mother decided to give the money to the families of the 58 people killed in the horrific shooting, where each family will collect an equal share of the asset.

The investigation into the shooting was drawn to a close after 10 months as the Las Vegas police failed to find out Paddock’s motive as to why he decided to brutally murder and attack so many innocent victims that day.

It has not been confirmed whether the authorities will sell his collection of weapons, they still remain in FBI custody at present.

Alice Denton, the attorney working on Paddock’s probate case said “What will be done to them is still to be determined. We have not been able to procure them yet, and we don’t know if we ever will. We just listed them, so everyone would know that they are assets of the estate.”

She further added “Due to the highly sensitive nature of the tragedy and this probate, it would be my personal preference that we petition the court at some point to destroy them. But we haven’t gotten to that point yet.”

At the time of Paddock’s death, his estimated fortune was revealed in a recent court filing which shows that more than $455,000 remained in 13 bank accounts, however, the largest amount which equated to $102,584.51 was left in one account and the smallest was $30.95.

This tragic incident in history will no doubt remain a mystery and whilst Paddock’s victims’ families will live in a perpetual state of grief, recognition of his own families’ acknowledgement of his monstrous act should go some way to create a sense of closure.
