Technology and innovation at the forefront of the legal industry

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) recently commissioned research with the University of Oxford about technology and innovation in the legal sector. The ‘Technology and Innovation in the Legal Services’ report has revealed some interesting findings that Title Research explore in their latest blog post.

The blog post looks at the key findings of the research, including:

  • How law firms are adopting technology – Positively, many law firms are adopting technology and innovating within their business, which is likely to lead to a better experience for clients.
  • COVID-19’s impact on technology and innovation in the legal sector – The global pandemic appears to have expedited the need for technology and innovation with 55% of law firms surveyed having increased or improved their use of technology.
  • Reluctance to change and innovation – There is still some resistance to change and innovation within the industry. 31% of law firms surveyed that were not currently utilising technology did not see technology or innovation as a strategic priority.
