Ochresoft on track with its 2021 carbon offsetting targets
Four months into its commitment to offset its annual carbon emissions for 2021, Ochresoft – the legal workflow software specialist for property and private client lawyers – is on track, having planted 246 trees since the start of the year.
The team launched a biodiversity initiative to plant trees throughout 2021 to offset the carbon emissions produced by the business. The programme is being completed in partnership with Tree Nation, which is part of a wider program dedicated to reforesting the world.
In four months, the donated trees have been planted in community projects in Oxfordshire – UK, Nepal, Kenya and India. The combination of tree species – which includes Beech, Alder, Indian Cedar, Red Silk Cotton Tree, Acacia and Pine – will capture 134.17 tonnes of co2 over a 20-year period and has reforested a total area of 0.22 hectares of land.
Ochresoft’s Managing Director, Rob Gurney, said:
“We are making great progress towards achieving our goal to offset the annual carbon emissions produced by our business during 2021. With 246 trees already planted, we are ahead of our original target, which I am delighted with. It is so important for everyone to consider the impact we have on the environment – both locally and globally – and encourage anyone to join us in our carbon neutrality journey.”
