Enhance your Willwriting skills with the IPW

With exclusive training courses and accreditation opportunities, October is set to be another busy month for members of the Institute of Professional Willwriters.

As well as providing will writers with a reputable accreditation to demonstrate a high level of expertise, the IPW regularly hold high-quality training courses for all professionals involved in wills and probate.

All IPW training is provided by the Willwriting Academy Limited who have recently been accredited as a formal provider of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the CPD Standards Office.  This means that a number of courses delivered will go towards CPD, ensuring your services and professionalism are maintained at the highest level.

Presented by highly-experienced speakers, the specialised training will be relevant for those new to the profession as well as those who have years of experience, with a focus on refreshing understanding and keeping to date.

Suitable for members as well as those who are yet to join, the courses cover a range of current topics including Willwriting, the different of trust, and mental capacity, with completely new training sessions being developed throughout the year.

The 3rd of October brings the opportunity to attend an Introduction to Willwriting course, being held at Nottingham’s Castle Marina Park. This one-day course will provide attendees with all the essential knowledge on writing a will and is perfect for those starting out, or to reaffirm key skills. Led by Paul Tansley, the course will cover issues such as intestacy, capacity, trustee powers, as well as a range of other vital topics.

On the 10th of October, a one-day course providing an Introduction to Will Trusts is due to take place in Stockport. Specifically designed for professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge, the course will cover all aspects of the trust, from setting out the basics to exploring more complex issues including FLITS and specialist trusts.

The month comes to a close with the Associate Course & Examination, providing professionals with the chance to take Will instructions on behalf of an existing member. Det to take place on the 31st of October, the course is aimed at those who have received training from an existing member and sets out to consolidate and bridge any gaps in knowledge so that they are fully prepared.
