Alpha Legal’s product roadmap for Spring 2021

The developers at Alpha Legal (alphalegal.co.uk), the secure communication service for will writers, solicitors and accountants, have just published their product roadmap for Spring 2021. Highlights of the roadmap include integration with some of the larger will writing businesses in the UK, the introduction of exciting new features for all users and the release of a new app.

The first new feature going live is the integration with estate planning business Legacy Legal (legacylegal.co.uk). Legacy Legal’s consultants will be able to send draft and final documents to their clients via Alpha Legal direct from Legacy Legal’s own software. They will also be able to request and receive ID documentation as part of their client onboarding process. This integration will cement Alpha Legal into the Legacy Legal workflow and will make a difference to consultants and clients alike.

Continuing the integration theme, the will writing consultants working with Countrywide Tax & Trust will also be seeing further developments in the coming months. Countrywide consultants will be able to share documents live from their laptop Legacy software using Alpha Legal’s secure communication channel. Clients will receive an emailed link and a text message to their mobiles to enable them to view and approve draft documents. Benefits will be two-fold as not only will there be huge savings in print and postage, but also the security risks involved in sharing documents by email will be removed.

The next features to go live, some as early as February 2021, will benefit all users of Alpha Legal and not just those working with the larger will writing businesses in the UK.

A new “client timeline” feature highlights key events with clients in a visual way. Providing an overview of the significant interactions with a client, the timeline feature will include ID requests being sent and received, documents being shared and clients using Alpha Legal’s e-signature process to approve documents such as terms of business or draft wills.

Consultants using Alpha Legal will now be able to brand the system with their logo and change email and contact details so that clients only see the consultant’s branding and not Alpha Legal’s. This second, improved subscription level is available now for only an extra £10/month and existing Alpha Legal users will be able to upgrade easily from within the software.

For consultants wanting to book meetings with clients, a new calendar feature will be live in Alpha Legal before the end of March. Naturally, given the COVID restrictions we are all now working under, meetings can be virtual as well as physical. With this in mind, a new development helps consultants save time by allowing the creation of Zoom meeting links live from Alpha Legal with no extra clicks. Sharing the appointments with the client is completely automatic.

Other features planned for the Spring releases include improved secure messaging, consultant-configurable chase-up emails to encourage clients to complete documents and forms, and CRM features to help consultants turn leads into sign-up business. All features intended to improve the client experience and promote efficient working.

Finally, the keenly-awaited Family Finances app will be available from the app stores in February. The app allows users to record and track account and asset portfolio details, and also to share those details with their partner(s), family and trusted advisors. Downloadable by clients for no charge, the app will be the missing piece of the communications jigsaw for will writers, IFAs, solicitors and accountants. Alpha Legal “branded subscription” users will also be able to brand the app giving them a whole new vehicle to attract, win and retain business.
