North West law firm receive prestigious WIQS accreditation

Bolton-based law firm, Russell and Russell have become one of the first practices of North West England to receive a Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS) accreditation.

Judith Bromley, Head of Wills and Probate at Russell and Russell says, This is a fantastic achievement. The team has worked extremely hard to attain this certification which really sets us apart from our competitors.

Established in 1887 by William Russell, the business title was formed after his brother Walter joined him a decade later. The firm has since become one of the most established legal service provider in the region. The headquarters have remained at the same location since the brothers’ union, and further offices have been set up in other towns across the North West.

Bromley sees the accreditation as an honour and claims, There are lots of businesses operating in this area that aren’t regulated

The WIQS is the first formal standard conducted by The Law Society that has been tailored the delivery of wills and probate advice. The scheme has been designed around a wills and inheritance protocol, which requires legal service providers to make consumers aware of the various options, costs and timescales involved in estate planning.

By awarding the prestigious accreditation to only the best law firms, the initial aim is to make consumers more knowledgeable and highlight the importance of will writing and seeking trusted professional probate advice.

In order to achieve the status, Russell and Russell worked rigorously to demonstrate the adoption of best practice within the delivery of their wills and probate services. Changes were applied to the application and assessment processes of the business, which were then presented to the accreditors.

It was important for us to show that we’re committed to standards of excellence in order for customers to have confidence in the quality of our service. Bromley stated.
