Law firm raises over £3,500 for Will Aid

West Midlands based Talbots Solicitors have managed to raise £3,585 for Will Aid charities after agreeing to participate in the scheme in November last year.

The scheme was run for nine Will Aid charities, and involved trusts and estates lawyers from the firm agreeing to prepare Wills for members of the public, free of charge, as long as those clients donated to Will Aid. All trusts and estates lawyers from the firm’s 7 offices took part in the scheme.

Adrian Mabe, Head of Trusts and Estates at the firm said: “This was a great result. I am delighted that our staff managed to raise such a large amount.”

Many solicitors and will writers now take part in similar charity will schemes and promotions. Cheshire based Jackson Barrett & Gass raised money for Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary.

Marketing Manager Rick Barrow said: “We take part for several reasons; Corporate Social Responsibility, helping a local charity & raising the awareness of Wills.

“We get significant goodwill & PR exposure from taking part. We often retain the clients for further work which is excellent ROI.

“The Charities raise significant levels of PR, we assist their PR & marketing & they know they can trust us to look after their supporters.

“Clients are generally happy – those that use us benefit from supporting a charity & dealing with their affairs. Other clients have commented that its good to see a law firm assisting in a proactive & genuine way.”
