Hart Brown expands Trusts & Estates team

Surrey based law firm Hart Brown has announced the appointment of a new partner within its Trusts & Estates Team as well as declaring that an expert qualification has been achieved by an existing team member.

Louise Harrhy

Moving from Charles Russell Speechlys, Louise Harrhy has joined the Trusts & Estates team as a partner in the Cranleigh office. As well as being a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, she is highly experienced in probate applications and estate administration, especially matters which involve offshore assets. Louise advises on all areas of private client work including lifetime and estate planning for high net worth individuals, including administration, taxation, will drafting and trust formation. She also advises on Court of Protection matters including Deputyship application, Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as applications to the court for gifts and requisite complex capacity aspects.

Commenting on her new position, Louise stated: “I am thrilled to be joining the growing Trusts and Estates team at Hart Brown as a Partner and look forward to working in the Cranleigh office and building new relationships within the community.”

Associate Solicitor Sara McGrigor has also received her STEP qualification (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), providing recognition of her expertise and further enhancing the team. As the worldwide professional association for those advising families across the generation, STEP members spend their professional lives working with families and tackling real life problems. Two years of experience is required in order to attain full membership, which includes substantial involvement at a specialist level. Further, it indicates a deeper level of understanding.

The Head of Hart Brown’s Trusts & Estates department, Paul Tobias, commented on what’s required to be a STEP members as well as Sara’s own achievement.

“Qualifying as a STEP member involves a lot of extra-curricular study and personal commitment. Sara is to be congratulated for attaining this qualification, which demonstrates that she is a true expert in the field of private client work. I am also delighted to welcome Louise to Hart Brown. Louise has an excellent reputation within the profession and amongst clients she has acted for and will add experience and expertise to our growing Trusts & Estates team.”
