As part of their 2015 marketing strategy, The Society of Will Writers have created a second video, surrounding consumer protection in the will writing industry. This follows a meeting between the Legal Services Board (LSB) and the representative bodies of the industry, where best practice regarding both consumer and professional education was discussed.
As a result of the meeting, the Director General at The Society of Will Writers, Brian McMillan, decided to make 2015 the Society’s year of compliance. Time will be dedicated to raising consumer awareness regarding the importance of having a will in place, as well as improving the educational standards of members.
The first video of the series put forward why will writing is a great and rewarding career path. Today’s Wills & Probate interviewed Brian McMillan earlier this month and discussed the inspiration behind the video and the impact this could have not only on the Society, but on the will writing profession as a whole.
This latest video, which has been published on The Society of Will Writers YouTube channel is now aimed at consumers, rather than professionals and prospective will writers. It effectively summarises the reasons why everyone needs a will, circumstances where wills are most significant, as well as how consumers can find a will writing professional.
