The British Wills and Probate Awards Goes Hybrid

The 4th edition of The British Wills and Probate Awards, sponsored by Executor Solutions, will be a hybrid event following the decision to host an in-person event in October.

With the details of the venue still under wraps, we can reveal that the awards this year, held on 21st October, will consist of an in-person live awards ceremony following by a glitzy evening dinner.

The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic forced the 2020 event to be hosted virtually, with over 800 people “attending” the virtual ceremony recognising the efforts of the industry in responding to the challenges presented by Coronavirus.

This year the awards will recognise the ongoing efforts of the industry to adjust to the “new normal” with a celebration of innovation, client-centric service, technology and a desire to continually strive for excellence.

The British Wills and Probate Awards welcomes back the fabulous Jennie Bond to host the afternoon in-person awards ceremony which will also be live streamed via The British Wills and Probate Awards website.  The afternoon ceremony will be followed by our Champagne Reception, sponsored by Exizent, and the evening 3-course dinner.

Commenting on the decision to host an in-person event this year, David Opie, Managing Director of Today’s Media, the publishers of Today’s Wills and Probate and organisers of the awards said

“I think if you had asked us even 3 months ago what the awards would look like this year we would probably have suggested another virtual awards was on the cards.”

“However, the success of the vaccine rollout has provided some much needed reassurance and speaking with our supporters and all those around the industry, as well as keeping a watching brief on sentiment through Today’s Wills and Probate, we feel that the time is right to bring the industry together and conduct an in-person ceremony.”

“We’re taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that we’re delivering the event in a covid-safe way and are looking forward to seeing so many of our friends and colleagues again.”

Michael Edwards, Business Director at Headline Sponsor Executor Solutions said

“The awards are the biggest event in the calendar and after such a challenging time for all, it’s going to be fantastic to celebrate the achievements of everyone involved.”

“And to have the opportunity to see everyone face to face is the icing on the cake.”

Aleks Tomczyk, COO & Founder at Champagne Reception Sponsor Exizent said:

“We’re excited that the awards will be able to have an in-person element. After a tough 18 months, everyone can look forward to a fantastic evening celebrating success and surrounded by like-minded individuals striving to transform the industry.”

The awards shortlist is due out at the end of the month along with the opening of the voting for the much anticipated Today’s Wills and Probate Industry Champion award; the person who has made an exceptional and inspiring contribution to the industry over the last 12 months, during which the industry faced unprecedented challenges.
