Support Will Aid this November

For the last 25 years, Will Aid has worked in partnership with wills and probate professionals every November, in order to raise much needed funds for a variety of charities they support.

Since 1988, Will Aid has been encouraging will writers and solicitors to get involved in the scheme. When a person writes a will with the help of a professional firm, rather than paying for the services, clients are invited to offer the service fees incurred to Will Aid instead.

Over £15 million has been raised so far, and last year the 1,500 solicitors who took part were able to contribute over £2 million.

It’s simple to get involved; all you have to do is register your firm with Will Aid and they will provide you with the resources you need to be a part of the campaign. This includes posters, leaflets and even a suggested marketing strategy to help you gain more interest.

Will Aid will then direct consumers to your business, where you can then ask clients you’ve attained to make a donation to the cause, rather than pay for the service you provide. A minimum donation of £95 per basic will is advised, or £150 for basic mirror wills.

All wills and probate firms have the freedom to choose how many Will Aid clients to accept. Though being a part of such a great scheme has seen 85% of firms gain increased business as a direct result of being a participant.

Charities that will benefit from the much needed funds include:

  • ActionAid — fighting against global poverty
  • Age UK — supporting older people
  • British Red Cross — providing help in a crisis anywhere in the world
  • Christian Aid — fighting against global poverty
  • NSPCC — fighting against child abuse in the UK
  • Save the Children — supporting children around the world
  • SCIAF – fighting against global poverty
  • Sightsavers — supporting the blind and partially sighted in third world countries
  • Trocaire – fighting against global poverty

Not only will you and your clients be helping those in need, you will also be provided with free registration on Certainty, the National Will Register.
