Just Who Are Honey Legal?

Since starting out in 2010 Honey Legal has grown to become one of the largest providers of estate planning and probate services you’ve probably never heard of.

Slowly but surely the firm has grown from its roots in North Shropshire and now, 10 years on, has 100 staff across 3 offices and over 250 consultants covering the whole of England & Wales.

From starting out providing Wills, the group now offers a full suite of estate planning services including Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and probate.

“If we were to best describe what we want to achieve, it is to become the recognised leader in the estate planning sector. The market is so fragmented, and we believe there is a fantastic opportunity to establish ourselves as industry leaders.”

Says Al Gardiner, the charismatic CEO of Honey Group.

Honey Legal have quietly gone about doing just that, generating over 14,000 new customers in the last 12 months alone.

And while the debate over regulation continues to simmer, Honey Legal have gone about their business in typically robust fashion; adopting a “best of both world’s” approach with in-house legal experts regulated by the Council of Licensed Conveyancers and the Solicitors Regulation Authority, as well as Financial Conduct Authority regulated professionals in the financial services arm of the group.

The business is powered by its own technology; a 7-figure investment, all written in-house which currently stands at 2.1m lines of code.

Drawing on all the expertise of the in-house legal support, the software can produce the full array of legal documents in 9 seconds, which vastly improves the customer’s experience.

Al is rightly proud of what Honey Legal has achieved

During the Covid-19 pandemic Honey offered free Wills for NHS and key workers.

They donate 5% of their profit to charities including Help for Heroes, Cancer Research UK and When You Wish Upon a Star, amongst many others. Whilst Wills produced by Honey Legal generate £26m in legacy revenue for charities every year.

Business is, for Al, about doing the right thing. It’s the company motto, emblazoned across the walls of the office and a mantra the company lives and breathes by.

“Doing the right thing is about establishing long standing relationships and working with people to deliver a better overall client experience; it’s about looking after your own staff and their well-being; and it’s about doing the right thing by your clients, who just want and need the right advice.”

With 3000+ Trustpilot reviews and a 4.9/5 rating, doing the right thing is clearly working for Honey Legal.
