Final Roundtable Of 2019 Discusses ‘Three Big People Problems’ Firms Should Consider
Today’s Wills and Probate is excited to host the upcoming and final Roundtable event of 2019, sponsored by Executor Solutions, taking place on 12th November at Shakespeare Martineau in Milton Keynes.
Past roundtable events have covered all the pertinent issues affecting the wills and probate sector in 2019 including the changes to the Wills Notification Service, proposed probate fees changes and the dreaded probate delays which plagued the summer months.
Today’s Wills and Probate’s final roundtable of the year will follow in a similar fashion, delivering a day of vibrant debate and discussion around the key topics of the moment.
Following refreshments and networking opportunities, the morning will kick off by contemplating the rise of fraud in the legal sector and the increasing importance of creating a robust policy around ID checks.
Recent reviews conducted by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) resulted in 172 firms being investigated for anti-money laundering non-compliance with 60 firms being forwarded to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT).
The discussion will assess the responsibility of the law firm and the innovative technology solutions which can help legal service providers remain compliant with such a quick moving and volatile issue.
Phil Jepson of Jepson Holt will lead proceedings in the second session of the day, focusing on employee recruitment and retention.
Too often employees are recruited with an idea of their role only for the reality failing to measure up. Marrying up employee expectations and the firm’s actual offering is really important in creating an effective work environment and Phil will look at the ‘Three Big People Problems’ legal service providers should consider.
Robert Sanderson, Managing Director of The Practical Vision Network, will conclude proceedings by chairing a discussion on regulated and unregulated legal services and the rise of freelance Solicitors.
The day will run from 10am to 15:00pm.
If you are interested in attending the final roundtable event of 2019, limited tickets are available.
