Eastenders star dies age 71

An actor best known for his role as “Dirty Den” in Eastenders has died at the age of 71.

It’s been announced that Leslie Grantham, who starred on the popular soap during 1985 to 1989 and once again in 2003 to 2005, died on Friday morning, with his agent stating that a private funeral would be held.

After his career on Eastenders came to a close, Grantham went on to appear in stage plays and pantomimes, as well as authoring a novel for children.

The news of his death follows reports earlier this week that he had returned from Bulgaria to receive medical attention in the UK. The BBC reports that he had travelled there to appear in a TV series.
