Category spotlight: Technology, Marketing and Contentious Wills
The British Wills and Probate Awards are taking centre stage once again this October, and we are excited to shine a spotlight on some of the returning categories for this year’s awards.
Alongside our headline sponsor, Executor Solutions and Champagne Sponsor, Exizent, we look forward to recognising achievements, highlighting progression and championing innovation.
This week we’re spotlighting the following three categories.
Best Use of Technology – sponsored by IHT loan by Tower Street Finance
This award goes to a firm or legal supplier who has shown great initiative by implementing technology which has enhances the efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of their business, or demonstrated how their technology has delivered an exceptional customer experience.
Last year’s winner was Estatesearch, who were shortlisted alongside My Probate Partner who were highly commended and Probate Property Solutions.
During the judging process, Estatesearch were commended for “a strong, innovative product offering a combined service with a clear understanding of client requirements.”
Reacting to their win, Estatesearch said:
“We were absolutely elated to have won. It was somewhat of a surprise that we almost weren’t ready for as it was the first award announced, and I think we were still busy topping up drinks.”
Best Use of Marketing and Social Media
This award looks at all aspects of how a firm or legal supplier markets itself. This firm or legal supplier has shown that its use of marketing and social media has created an effective platform and online presence through which customers/clients can reach them.
Parker Bullen took the crown last year, with WillSuite being highly commended and Finders International securing third spot.
The judges felt that Parker Bullen’s entry “placed the emphasis on return on investment”.
The firm said they felt “very proud” for winning this award.
Best Contentious Wills and Probate Team – sponsored by inheritance dispute funding by Tower Street Finance
The team of the year dealing with disputes over wills takes a pragmatic and personable approach to dealing with disagreements over wills and the probate proceedings that follow. Skilled litigators with a proven track record of success, this team will also be able to evidence a sensitive and client-centred approach to dealing with contentious probate issues.
Last year’s winners Shoosmiths were commended during the judging process for their “ability to get to the heart and solve complex problems, in an efficient and compassionate way.”
Ashfords were highly commended in this category, with Bolt Burdon being placed third.
Commenting on their win, Shoosmiths said:
“We are very excited to win. We are relatively new as a team, but we bring together a wealth of experience, enthusiasm and talent, and we are still growing. We love what we do, and being recognised as the Best Contentious Wills & Probate Team is the icing on the cake: it’s a huge achievement, and one that we are very proud of.”
