British Wills & Probate Awards Registration Date Extended

The British Wills & Probate Awards has announced the important decision to return for its third year, despite the uncertainty of Coronavirus.

Never has there been a more important time to recognise the commitment of individuals and firms within the sector to supporting clients at this unprecedented time.

Through Today’s Wills and Probate, we learn daily of wills and probate professionals delivering crucial and timely advice and services to people despite the challenges we all face, at the same time putting client’s safety at the forefront of their delivery.

In recognition of this, and in addition to the planned categories, The British Wills & Probate Awards invites the judges to consider our award for the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the sector during the Covid-19 crisis.

Karen Babington of Practical Vision, hosts of the awards, said:

“We have thought long and hard about postponing the awards this year but we felt that if there was ever a time to recognise the immense contribution this sector makes to the UK then it is now.”

“We are proud to be able to showcase the resilience, innovation, ingenuity and care of businesses across the sector and immensely grateful to all our supporters and sponsors who have continued their commitment to the British Wills & Probate Awards in this period of uncertainty.”

Dave Newick, Managing Director at headline sponsor Arken adds:

“The last few months have been interesting as we have all been navigating the challenges that the COVID-19 outbreak has presented to us. It has been awe-inspiring to see the innovative ways that you have all found to witness Wills and go the extra mile for your clients, while adapting to a new way of remote working or client engagement.

“That is why, in whatever way possible, it is so important to recognise the role that our industry plays and award those that are exceptional examples of our trade.”

Registrations to enter the awards have been extended until the 5th June 2020 with a host of award categories for practitioners and suppliers, and four new awards to enter in 2020

  • Charity Legacy Team of the Year
  • Private Client Team of the Year
  • Probate Research Firm of the Year
  • Chambers of the Year

We hope as a result of the extension that more firms will have the opportunity to enter their colleagues, teams and firms so that their hard work during 2020 is more widely acknowledged.

Plans for the Gala Dinner, scheduled for 22nd October 2020, have been put on hold until there is greater clarity from Government on the nature of social distancing requirements post-lockdown. However, The British Wills & Probate Awards are committed to completing the judging and awards process.
