Bill on end of life care provision for homeless approved for second reading

The Bill on Homelessness (End of Life Care) has been approved for a second reading.

Introduced to Parliament yesterday, the Bill relates to end of life care provision and support for homeless people with terminal illnesses. It also encompasses the provision of appropriate housing for such people.

The Bill was brought in under the ‘Ten Minute Rule’ which provides MPs with a ten-minute period to put forward a case for the introduction of a bill. Where this is successful, the bill is taken to have had its first reading.

Its second reading is expected to take place on 16 March 2018.

The progress of the Bill can be accessed here.
